Recognition in “American Theatre” Magazine – In April 2009, as part of “American Theatre” magazine’s 25th anniversary, Mo`olelo’s Artistic Director was selected as one of 25 artists from across the country to write about the next 25 years in American theater. The 25 selected artists were described by the magazine as “richly accomplished folks – directors, performers, designers, writers, dramaturgs, producers and curators of new work. All have demonstrated something special in their approach to the art and craft of theatremaking that convinced us they have not only vision and foresight about the field they’ve chosen, but the tenacity and commitment it will take to realize their aspirations over time. Our artistic future, we figure, belongs to people like these.”
Greening the theater industry – According to Charlie Deull, Co-Chair of the Broadway Green Alliance (BGA), “When we launched BGA, one of the very best resources for greening theater at that time was the Mo`olelo website. We are now featuring Mo`olelo’s Green Theater Choices Toolkit prominently on the BGA website and heard from others involved in the field that they are using it also. Mo`olelo is making a huge difference.”
Selection by The Children’s Theatre Company in 2008 as a dissemination site of the federally-recognized arts education program Neighborhood Bridges
