MO`OLELO PERFORMING ARTS COMPANY ANNOUNCES
RECOGNITION FROM THE AMERICAN THEATRE WING

Critically-acclaimed theatre company receives coveted National Theatre Company grant

October 3, 2011 – San Diego, CA – Critically-acclaimed Mo`olelo Performing Arts Company is pleased to announce that the American Theatre Wing, best known as the creator of the Antoinette Perry “Tony” Awards,  is awarding the Company with their prestigious 2011 National Theatre Company grant.

Created by American Theatre Wing in 2010 to support the most promising emerging theatre companies from around the country, the National  Theatre Company grant recognizes only 10 theaters annually. Companies chosen to receive the $10,000 grant have articulated a distinctive mission, cultivated an audience, and nurtured a community of artists in ways that strengthen and demonstrate the quality, diversity, and dynamism of American theatre.

“The recognition from the American Theatre Wing is a tremendous honor,” said Seema Sueko, Mo`olelo’s Co-Founder and Executive Artistic Director. “This boost of national recognition comes at the perfect time as we grow from producing two shows annually to three in 2012.”
